ÓRBITA PROJECT

ORBITA05 is a hybrid space of creation and exhibition focused on the work of artists of various disciplines, disregarding their geographic location. The aim is to incentivate debate and experimentation through shared remote webcam action.

The platform ORBITA [05] consists of the production and articulation of a hybrid space for creation, making use of ITCT [Information and Telecommunication Technologies] as well as the space characteristics of the scenic arts.

This platform will permit the interaction among artists located in different parts of the world and their "de-localization" through the Internet. The actions will be broadcasted and experimented both by the participants and the espectators/receptors through the Web.

The reflections considered in the implementation of ITCT at the service of the scenic arts, are basically the digitalization of the body and the transmission of data in real time, as well as the fusion of the scenes into one space of digital nature.

ORBITA [05]
International Festival for Action through Webcam

The context of the first version of the ORBITA05 International Festival is the debate TEATRALIDAD Y RESISTENCIA [THEATRALITY AND RESISTENCE] organized by UCLM University in Spain and moderated by the UCLM professor José A. Sánchez.

ORBITA05 connects elements that are inherent to the scenic creation with the new technologies, such as: Light, speed, body, sound, real- and non-linear time, space and meta-space (remotely shared spaces), action, communication, virtuality and digital code, de-materialization and data transformation, reversibility and de-codification, among others.

This first encounter for remotely shared action and multinodal communication is proposed to take place between Latin America and Europe, with fixed places in Chile, Sweden and Spain. An interactive connection and broadcast of the actions in real time will be established between both continents.
