It based on the book "The metamorphosis" of Franz Kafka, the video "I, Carolina" exposes one of the facets of the aggressiveness.

The words like a way of violence.

For Daniel Sibony (Moroccan, French Psychoanalyst 1946), there is a crucial episode in the book. It is when Gregorio Samsa’ s sister throws him apples causing the death of Samsa.

According to Sibony these apples, encysted in the shell of the protagonist, are words. They are the reproaches that acquire a mortal form.

ID + COM is a work based on human relationships and the dependence of them about the new technologies.

In the process of the communication to distance through chats and virtual communities on the Internet this environment become a real space. This piece, captured in real-time, is a dialogue among users with an emotional linking. The video show the complexity of the media where the relationships are founded on virtual spaces and how this environment is capable to modify the perceptions and the lives. Through a common language and some codes, recently in practice, the caracters (avatars) of this short film confess and lie.

They represent their own avatar. They doubt; the fact is that in the network certain guidelines are clear: the body and the message to are about to verify. ID + COM, is the reflection of a cyberculture, impregnated of the human desires, with the property to penetrate vertically in the reality.

Apnea. Territorio Mar-íntimo¨ is a work pursuing, by contrast narrative, a reflection on the relationship between identity and migration. Through this piece, I search in the story an immersion towards intimacy. The idea is to set an identitary cartography connecting experience with bureaucratic context and political territories.

SINOPSIS

Apnea. Territorio Mar-íntimo is an installation consisting of a video projection and seven volumetric objects formed by a base and a telephone made of plaster. Each object, has an audio device, by which it can be listen the voice of people narrating small fragments taken from diaries written by the creator of Apnea, between 1985 and 1995. These are friends and family, that through their voices outline the identity of the writer of the diaries.

The video projection shows the artist in a beach, telling her personal details according to her legal/administrative situation as an immigrant. The idea is to confront two kinds of narration simultaneously about the same person. One of them focusing on the bureaucracy and the other on memory and identity tell by others.

This piece, made in 2008, is built in South America, specifically in Chile, country of birth of the creator of Apnea and where she travels to find the elements alive and documents that form this work.

Deja que el sudor salga corriendo por la depresión que va al mar.

Otra vez tú, peregrino en mis labios.
Te encaminas y remarcas tus pasos de retorno.
¡Cómo caminas cimbrado!
Me dices que dormirás ahora y que tus ojos se apagan en el mediterráneo,
que los tiempos se han cruzado
y que llevas un dolor porque no te detienes.

Se tragaron tus ojos los ojos míos.
No aprendimos antes que las miradas nuestras traerían verdor.
Dejarlo otra vez no parecerá razonable mañana.
Pero deja que parta yo ahora.

Me dices que ya cruzaron tus ojos la frontera de regreso, eso es todo.
Volver atrás no tiene mérito.

Deja que se calle la aurora si yo no estoy.
Deja que los jamases se atasquen en nuestras bocas,
Que la eternidad se vuelva de lluvia,
Que la niebla sea la última sobre la arena.
